Could Lamar Odom be as good as Magic?

The Finals have been exciting or frustrating depending on which team you are rooting for. Kobe has shown up to play. Sasha was great off of the bench in game 3. Odom and Pau Gasol were not present. Odom has the potential to be a triple double player every night, or at least a double double every night. He can play many positions and has a versatility that most players don't have Ala Magic Johnson, just not to the same degree. I like Odom, but I think he tends to underachieve at times and I'm not too sure why. I think he could be the type of player that has versatility like Johnson had to take the ball down court, post up, shoot the three pointer, take it to the basket, play defense, rebound, and assist. He should out rebound most players since he stand at 6'10". Most players are around 6'6" to 6'8". However he has the height that can make him dominate other players on the boards as well as scoring, especially when he goes to the basket with his left hand. He can beat most players off the dribble that are as big or close to as big as him. Why doesn't he utilize this strength more often? That is the mystery that remains to be answered. Magic Johnson was the most versatile player ever to grace the court, he could play every position and could do everything. He played center when Kareem was injured and scored his career high 42 points. I believe Odom has that potential maybe not to the extent that Magic had, however he could play several different positions successfully. Why he doesn't live up to this at times is the question that he has to answer as he goes on the journey to find his game and establish himself as a versatile and dominate force as a big man.
